At that time, he worked at an aquatic plants farm in Singapore for 3 years. During that time, his hardworking attitude drew the envy of his colleagues. They made their current employer misunderstand Mr. Raymond and looked down of him. When he decided to left that company, he was ridiculed and despised by the employer. He was very unconvinced, but he left there in silence, secretly determined to get ahead.

After that, he tried to work in many others field. He then found that he has no interest and was unsuitable with those fields of jobs, so he kept changing and trying in various jobs. In these years, Mr. Raymond did fish-farming, repaired air-conditioners, worked at restaurants, been a chef, and so on. Until the year of 1985, he went back to the aquatic farm again. He finally found out his love and passion upon aquatic plants. And so, he worked in that farm for 2 more years, until the year of 1987.

In year 1987, through the cooperation with 5 shareholders, Mr. Raymond came to Malaysia and started his business at Kulai district, Johor, Malaysia. His first farm has only the size of 3 acres, and just have 70-80 types of aquatic plants in the first two years. At that time, he had only five workers working with him and their salary were only RM350 per month. So, every day he went to the farm to do the jobs and take good care of the farm by himself.

Mr. Raymond’s hard work did not get a good return in the first few years. Unfortunately, the location of his farm in Kulai was needed to be used in the construction of a new highway by the government (Now it has been built and started to use, which is called as the Outbound Kulai Toll Plaza). So, in the year of 1991, Mr. Raymond decided to move the farm to Kota Tinggi, Johor. However, the shareholders were not satisfied with the results of the past few years. So, took this opportunity, they gave up and terminated their partnership in that year.

These difficulties did not discourage Mr. Raymond. He strongly believes that his persistence will pay off one day. Holding this belief, he reopened a new farm at Bukit Samsu, Kota Tinggi in the year 1991. He worked hard and finally success to build up the farm and developed around 20-30 new species of aquatic plants every year

Before the year of 1996, Raymond Aquatic Enterprise always deals with local customers as well as exporters in Malaysia and Singapore only. Mr. Raymond sold his product to 90% of exporter in Malaysia and Singapore who export aquatic plants. Until year 1996, Mr. Raymond started to expand his business by exporting the aquatic plants to overseas by himself but not depends on local exporters. His first export country was to Netherlands, which was Aquaflora Aquarium. After that, Raymond Aquatic Enterprise keep exporting to Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and many other countries.

In year 2002, Mr. Raymond opened a new farm at LK. After a few years, one more new farm at Batu 12 was built in year 2008. Then in year 2017, the office had move from Jalan Lombong to Taman Medan Jaya with also a farm at there.

Started the year of 2017, the government has set up some new laws to control the quantity of foreign workers in our country. These actions had brought the manpower problems for Raymond Aquatic Enterprise. Under this pressure, the operation of company became more difficult because of the understaffed problem. After few months the problem was still cannot get to solve well and Mr. Raymond had started consider about to end the business.

Luckily, his son, Mr. Jasper advised him to insist on and find for more solutions. In the year of 2018, Mr. Raymond handed over the company to Mr. Jasper. Mr. Jasper used the method of increasing the workload of every worker to ease the manpower problem in the company. He tried to make good use of every employee by assigning different tasks to them according to their strengthens and weaknesses.

With blessings, let us look forward to Mr. Jasper bringing the company as well as aquatic plants towards a brighter future, to the whole Malaysia, and even the world.
